Editor’s Review – IE7Pro

IE7Pro is a great add-on for Internet Explorer 7. It adds lots of extra features, which make Internet Explorer 7 very customizable, secure, and easier to use. If you aren’t scared of configuring settings, IE7Pro may have what you need. Some of its settings can also be accessed from the Internet Settings dialog of the IE browser. However, in IE7Pro you can adjust the settings much easier, because they are all in one place. The program has some useful extra features, which make it quite powerful.

After you install this program you might not notice the new button that appears on the “Command” bar of your Internet Explorer windows. I didn’t see the IE7Pro button at first, because my IE toolbars were locked. However, I saw the little white E on a blue background that sits on the right-bottom corner of my IE windows.

IE7Pro allows you to define the maximum number of connections per server, the way you want to open new links, the HTML source editor which you want to use, and it even has support for simple scripts. The scripts can be triggered whenever you visit certain pages, in order to allow you to perform certain tasks. For example, you can use the “Download Video” script to download movies from YouTube, Google Video, or Myspace. All the scripts are disabled by default, but you can enable them from the “User Scripts” section of the IE7Pro configuration dialog.
